The highly-emotional pictures went live around the whole world: A gigantic canvas reveals the two-storey jet aircraft. Slowly the A380 rolls toward the delivery centre in Hamburg-Finkenwerder to the sounds of a song composed especially for this event.
It is accompanied by 2000 of its euphoric builders and 58 Emirates flight attendants. The CEOs stride across the red carpet and solemnly accept the new machine. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chief executive of Emirates, thanks the 2000 employees effusively. Thomas Enders, CEO of the aircraft manufacturer, throws up his arms in a victory pose. The first A380 from Hamburg has been delivered.
For this "historical delivery ceremony" Kontrapunkt was awarded the Golden EVA (Event Award) in the corporate events category as the Best Event of the Year 2009, as well as a Silver Nail in the events category of the most important German creativity contest, the ADC Award. The project was also nominated for the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany.
